Playoff berths are determined by the number of wins each member accumulates, and the member with the highest number of wins gets the highest seed. In case of ties, the NSPL version of NFL tie breaker rules comes into effect, first considering games with divisional wins, then games with conference wins, etc. Following the NFL’s model of two conferences with 7 teams each in the playoffs, there will be 14 members in the playoffs.
Playoff picks MUST be submitted a minimum of 24 hours in advance of kickoff. Failure to do so results in forfeiture of your berth for the remainder of the playoffs. Another player may be substituted at the discretion of the commissioner or the game may simply be forfeited.
Once the playoffs begin, wins collected during the regular season are removed and members seek to knock their opponent out of the playoffs in Head to Head style. The number one seed in each conference gets a bye for the Wild Card round. Matches are #7 seed at #2 seed, #6 seed at #3 seed, and #5 seed at #4 seed. #2 seeds, #3 seeds and #4 seeds have the advantage in any set-up where the spread or midpoint is a whole number. The higher seed in each matchup will continue to have this advantage until the Super Bowl.
EXAMPLE: Both the #6 and #3 seed have chosen the same team to win but are on opposite sides of the spread, which is 8. If the team both players picked did win by 8, the #3 seed wins.
Playoff berths are determined by the number of wins each league of 32's participants accumulate. If there are many leagues, it is possible no one from some leagues will go to the playoffs. If there is a small number of leagues, it is possible that multiple people from a league will go to the playoffs. In this case, the best divisional leaders in the leagues would go to the playoffs. Players will be assigned to Conference A or Conference B with the two members with the highest number of wins going one to Conference A and one to Conference B, etc. Two conferences of 7 players each will be formed.
